Egyptian cotton: a noble material
Around fifty varieties of cotton can be found throughout the world, of which only two supply almost all the world's production (Gossypium Hirsutum and Gossypium Barbadense). While Gossypium Hirsutum supplies 90% of the world's cotton, Gossypium Barbadense is used exclusively for top-of-the-range cotton, with Pima cotton and Egyptian GIZA cotton, two varieties prized for their long, fine fibres, incredible softness and rarity. Egyptian cotton, certified as such, is grown in Egypt, along the Nile, where the combination of a special climate and exceptional soil form a perfect alliance guaranteeing a cotton crop of excellence.
Egyptian cotton: a luxury product
Egyptian cotton is particularly used in the luxury hotel industry, for its silky touch, its resistance to time and its qualities of absorption and breathability. Like all luxury products, it is subject to counterfeiting, and to combat fraud, the Cotton Egypt association guarantees the authenticity of the cotton by issuing a certificate.

How do you choose and care for your Egyptian cotton bed linen?
Bear in mind that the higher the thread count, the softer and more resistant the material. Despite this resistance, Egyptian cotton is a noble material. So, if you want to preserve your ornaments over time and avoid damaging the fibres as much as possible, we only recommend cold washing (30°C maximum).
