The duvet cover is the most important part of your bed linen. It dresses up your duvet and can be made from a range of fabrics, including Egyptian cotton.

Softer nights with a percale duvet cover

The best ally for sleep is comfort. The choice of bed linen should not be taken lightly. Renowned for its superior quality, a cotton percale duvet cover is ideal for providing a fresh, soft bed at bedtime. In fact, it's used to cover the beds of some of the world's top hotels.

Cotton percale: quality and comfort

Cotton is the plant fibre used as a raw material. It is selected according to its fineness and the length of its fibres, then processed to make fabric. Percale, on the other hand, is a weaving method. It stems from an ancestral tradition that involves passing each thread perpendicularly over a vertical thread. The resulting fabric is much tighter, giving it strength and softness. Cotton percale provides the ideal texture for linen while letting it breathe. It is suitable for all seasons: light in summer and comfortable in winter. This method also means that the fabric becomes softer with each wash and is easy to iron.

How do you choose your percale duvet cover?

Cotton & Co duvet covers are available in different sizes. Before making your choice, you need to determine the size of your duvet and the width of your bed:

  • - 140x200 for a single bed
  • - 200x200 for a 1-2 person bed
  • - 240x220 for a 140 cm wide bed or 160 cm without too much overhang
  • - 260x240 for a 160 cm bed
  • - 280x240 for a 180 cm to 200 cm bed

For more details, take a look at our size guide. Another criterion to take into account is the number of wires contained in a cm². We recommend that you opt for a duvet cover with a minimum of 120 threads to guarantee a delicate feel and durability over time.

OEKO-TEX certified fabrics

As bed linen is in direct contact with the skin, it is essential that it is hypoallergenic and safe for the body. At Cotton & Co, we only offer products that have received international certification. A fabric with the "OEKO-TEX Standard 100" label means that it has been checked at every stage of its processing. The raw materials, yarns and dyes used do not contain any harmful chemicals. The components of our products are also manufactured with respect for the environment and ethical working conditions.

Percale duvet covers: a question of style

As the centrepiece of your bed linen, the duvet cover will determine the style of your bed linen. You can match it to your bedroom décor, or opt for mismatched colours to add a little pizzazz. A plain percale duvet cover combined with pastel pillowcases creates a cosy, elegant look. To liven up a cold décor, opt for a printed or coloured duvet cover. Finally, give your room a bohemian feel by adopting the latest trend: a duvet cover with a crinkled effect. Cotton & Co also offers a complete selection of flat sheets, pillowcases and fitted sheets to complete your bed linen.
